Sorry for the delay...

I have admittedly been on hiatus this week.  I apologize for the lack of updates.  I was sick last weekend and at the beginning of this week, and therefore took a break from cooking.  And then I ran out of time and I am working on the recipe contest I mentioned before as well as this blog.  So there will be some delays, and I am sorry.

I hope you haven't given up on me!  I do have some catching up to do, but I promise I will make it up to you all! Thanks for being such faithful readers!

While I am at it, I would love it if you all would join my Facebook page.  I have a gadget from Facebook that will link you to my page so you can "like" it.  I am getting pretty close to 100 followers and it would make my week if I could get some Facebook followers!  And also, I would LOVE it if you shared my blog with your friends!  If you enjoy what you find here and you follow me, it would be great to share the love!

And one last favor to ask... If you read my blog regularly, will you please click the follow button on the right sidebar of the blog?  I would be ever so grateful.  If you comment here saying you are now following, I would love to return the favor and follow you on your blog if you have one!

Thanks for your loyalty!  It means the world to me!!  Happy Cooking!

Free Earrings...made by ME!

Check out my cousin Jo's blog for an earring giveaway.  Yes, it's telling you to visit my blog, because I made them.  It's a chance for you to get a FREE pair of earrings.  In order to win you'll need to go to this page and comment on the post, and then go to her Facebook page to "Like" it.

To thank her for throwing me a bone, I would also appreciate it if you followed her blog, too.  We all like to share nice things with each other, so let's pay it forward and be friends!

P.S. If you love the earrings and find out that you didnt win the contest, you can email me and I will let you know how to get other pairs from me too.  I have a load of them left since I decided not to sell them on Etsy anymore. I'd be happy to share with my readers and friends!

We are out

It's our anniversary so we are gone off to Park City.  Where we are discovering how bad we really have the foody bug.  We found a quaint little shop and bought olive oil that we put on some ciabatta bread with fresh mozzarella.  Mozzarella is a cheese best eaten fresh not aged.  A tomato would be great with this.
And we had the best pizza we have ever had, ever.  At http://www.nypcpizza.com/

Hubby is a Tech Geek

This is Jeff, I post on this from time to time for example I did the eggrolls bit a while back.  Anyway mostly I'm here for tech support.

So added to the site is a paypal donate button, not so much because I expect money mostly because I'm taking advantage of having a lab to work in.  But if you send me money awesome.  Or if you want to help out you can visit our sponsors.  See by the miracle of Google I can type a word like "GPS" and then the advertiser robots on my blog will try to sell you a GPS and if click on the GPS links you can go see their products and Google gives me money because of my superior street cred.  For my wifes blog however it's more likely to sell you fancy sausages and cheeses.  Though I'm not sure why you would buy that online.  Or it might try to sell you Pampered Cheif, and if it does go visit those people because they have awesome stuff that would make Alton Brown jealous.

Also here's a button.  That is over in the right column.  If you like the blog and would like to help us with our street cred (although we can't pay you for it like Google you just have to like us) then you can have the little decal just by copying the HTML code in the box below and putting it on your website.  You don't even need to know HTML isn't that great.  So here it is and if you miss this blog post it will always be in the right column->

To link to us copy the HTML code in the box

How am I doing? Any suggestions?

Hey everyone. I know I have mentioned this before, but I wanted to just mention it again really quick.

I have noticed I have quite a few different readers from different parts of this country, and a few from some other countries. I love that I am getting lots of readers and I also have some very loyal ones who check this once a day or once every other day! Thanks for your loyalty, it's great to know you like what you see!

I am getting some comments from friends sometimes, letting me know they are trying a particular recipe, or asking questions, or how it was when they did try one. That's really great and let's me know what things are being used and what are not so useful.

If you are using one of the recipes and you love it, or if you found it helpful when I did something like adding notes to the recipe or giving my point of view on different parts of it, or anything of the sort, let me know! I love hearing feedback and getting ideas. Also, feel free to give suggestions or requests for new recipes and I will try to find new ways to do things that you all like. Within reason, of course, I am not made of money being a wife of a college student.

I would love for this to be sort of interactive and made to fit what people like to make or cook. What things does your family like to eat, what are things you find easy? What recipes do you think you could never tackle, and therefore have never tried? What kinds of foods would you love to try sometime, but don't even know where to start?

Let me know!

Sorry...got caught up in the holidays!

Ok, so I know it has been awhile since the last one. I have been busy with the last minute things for the holidays and so this has been put on the back burner! I am happy I have so many readers from all over the place! Thanks for giving me your time and attention every once in awhile.

I plan on posting a couple recipes today, and this week I promise I will start posting some pictures. Being busy with the holidays means I have been cooking a lot, so I do have some things to post as far as pictures go.

Please note, I have corrected a recipe. My brother in law made me aware of the fact that I had posted the wrong measurement on the yeast for the cinnamon rolls--it's 2 teaspoons, NOT 2 tablespoons. Sorry about that mistake!

Until next time, Happy Cooking, and I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!

That's definitely a start.

Ok, so I feel like I have posted a lot of recipes today, and I don't want to do so many every day. I wanted to get it started with a few recipes, and then build as I go along.

Jeff says I should post pictures of each item with each recipe, but I think I might have to go back and add the pictures after I make them, rather than making 10 different items because I posted a lot of things today. So I will make each of these items sometime in the near future (the next couple of weeks probably) and then post pictures when I make them.

Until then, enjoy the recipes and feel free to comment whether you liked them or not in the comment section.

For the holidays, I know a lot of families have traditional treats they like to make for their neighbors or whatever. I love sharing and getting new recipes, so it would be fantastic to exchange them here. If you are willing to share some of them, post them in the comments section and I'd love to try making them myself. I don't know how popular this thing will be, but hopefully it will be useful and fun for everyone involved!

Happy Cooking!

Here Goes...

Welcome to my recipe blog! By popular demand, I have started a recipe blog for all of my friends (and family if you like) to view and use as you like. Some of them are family recipes, some of them are from other people, and some of them are things I have found online. I will source them as I have found them.

Also, you can request different things if you like. I do have a habit of posting what I am making that day on Facebook, so if you want it posted on here, just comment my status and I will post it.

My first few posts will probably be holiday stuff because right now I am making my holiday candy treats. I will also post main dishes and other things as well, so dont worry. Some of my recipes will be low carb and sugar free because I am diabetic and so is my mom and mother in law, but any of the recipes with Splenda can be done with sugar instead. I just prefer Splenda so I can enjoy treats along with everyone else.

Happy Holidays, and Enjoy!
